The retainer 17 includes a plurality of retainer segments 20 annularly arranged. Each of the retainer segments 20 has a pocket for holding the prescribed number of tapered rollers 15. Each of the retainer segments 20 includes a plurality of pillars extending in an axial direction, and a pair of connecting portions extending in a circumferential direction and connecting the plurality of pillars respectively. A protrusion 29 protruding to a radial outer side and extending in the circumferential direction is provided on both ends in the axial direction of the retainer segment 20, and each of the protrusions 29 has a guide surface 29a guided to an outer ring raceway surface 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
