To provide a coil wire which can be efficiently cooled.SOLUTION: A coil wire includes: a plurality of small coils 20a and 20b having a slender shape; and an insulation member 30 which covers the plurality of assembled small coils 20a and 20b. When assembled, the plurality of small coils 20a and 20b form a gap, between the plurality of small coils 20a and 20b, which communicates in the length direction.
