In the travel assistance system, when the parallel traveling vehicle switches between traveling in the manual driving mode and traveling in the automatic driving mode, the parallel traveling vehicle is inhibited from cutting into the convoy vehicle group. Accordingly, the vehicle traveling in parallel with the convoy vehicle group composed of the plurality of vehicles traveling in convoy is allowed to cut into the convoy vehicle group smoothly.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】隊列走行を行なっている複数の車両からなる隊列走行車群に並走する車両を、隊列走行車群にスムーズに割り込ませる。【解決手段】隊列走行を行なっている複数の車両からなる隊列走行車群に並走し、運転者の操作による手動運転モードでの走行と運転者の操作によらない自動運転モードでの走行とを切り替えながら走行可能な並走車両の走行を支援する走行支援システムであって、並走車両において手動運転モードでの走行と前記自動運転モードでの走行とを切り替えるときには、並走車両の隊列走行車群への割り込みを禁止する。これにより、隊列走行を行なっている複数の車両からなる隊列走行車群に並走する車両を、隊列走行車群にスムーズに割り込ませることができる。【選択図】図２ |
