To provide a highly versatile safety device.SOLUTION: A safety device (10) ensures safety operation of a target apparatus and includes: an imaging part (14) for imaging a range including a target range in which human presence is to be determined; an acquisition part (131) for acquiring image data captured by the imaging part; a determination part (132) for determining human presence within the target range based on the image data; and an output part (133) that outputs, when a human is determined to be present within the target range, a determination signal for executing at least one of warning to a user or an emergency stop of the target apparatus.
