Zusammenfassung:	To suppress defect in detecting a positioning mark from occurring.SOLUTION: A printer 10 is provided with a platen 11, an optical-type sensor 91 and a control device 110. The optical-type sensor 91 detects colors of media 5. When the media 5 are colorless and transparent, the optical-type sensor 91 detects a color of the platen 11 supporting the media 5. The control device 110 determines colors different from the colors detected by the optical-type sensor 91, as colors of marks C01-C04 and prints the marks on the media 5.
