Zusammenfassung: | To provide a coffee beverage which has an improved clear flavor and upper-class bean-like flavor and a production method thereof, and a composition for an instant coffee beverage which is just dissolved into liquid such as water so that the coffee beverage can be easily prepared.SOLUTION: A production method of a coffee beverage includes producing the coffee beverage by using as raw materials a soluble coffee solid content and one or more terpene compounds selected from the group consisting of 3-methyl-3-buten-1-ol and 3-methyl-2-buten-1-ol. A coffee beverage is also provided which contains: a soluble coffee solid content; and one or more terpene compounds selected from the group consisting of 3-methyl-3-buten-1-ol and 3-methyl-2-buten-1-ol, the coffee beverage having a content of the terpene compound of 0.1 to 30 ppm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
