Zusammenfassung:To provide a drive unit of an in-wheel motor which can achieve downsizing of the in-wheel motor.SOLUTION: A drive unit of an in-wheel motor includes: a motor provided within a tire; and a composite planetary gear mechanism provided within the tire and serving as a speed reducer which transmits torque of the motor. The composite planetary gear mechanism includes: a stepped pinion gear; and a sun gear which transmits torque of the motor to the stepped pinion gear. The stepped pinion gear includes: a first gear which engages with a fixed ring gear; and a second gear which has a diameter larger than that of the first gear and engages with an output ring gear.
