To provide a writing instrument which can provide a feeling that an outer peripheral surface of a barrel is made of a fabric or the like, has a good appearance to improve its design, and provides pleasant touch sensation to improve use feeling.SOLUTION: A writing instrument includes: a barrel 1 extending along a center axis in an axial direction; and a writing member disposed within the barrel 1. The barrel 1 has fiber projections 6 protruding to the radial outer side from an outer peripheral surface of the barrel 1. The plurality of fiber projections 6 are provided arranged side by side on the outer peripheral surface.
