ARTICLE TRANSFER DEVICE

To provide an article transfer device that accurately determines the holding status of an article by transfer means.SOLUTION: A supply conveyor 4 supplies caps 1 (articles) in multiple rows and columns stored in a supply box 3. In the case that the caps are supplied in a first supply configuration (third supply configuration) in which the number of caps in each row stored in the supply box 3 is constant, when transfer means 6 takes out a row of caps 1 from the supply box 3, control means 8 determines a holding status of the taken out caps 1 by using a cap detection sensor 9 (detection means). In the case that the caps are supplied in a second supply configuration (fourth supply configuration) in which the number of caps in each row stored in the supply box 3 is not constant, when the transfer means 6 takes out a row of caps 1 from the supply box 3, imaging means 7 installed above images the caps 1 held by a holding means 12, and the control means 8 determines the holding status of the caps 1 through image recognition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】 移載手段による物品の保持状態を正確に判定する。【解決手段】 供給コンベヤ４は、キャップ１（物品）を供給箱３に複数行、複数列で収容した状態で供給する。供給箱３に収容された上記キャップ１の各行の個数が一定である第１供給形態（第３供給形態）で供給した場合、移載手段６が供給箱３から１列のキャップ１を取り出すと、制御手段８はキャップ検出センサ９（検出手段）によって取り出したキャップ１の保持状態を判定する。上記各行の個数が一定でない第２供給形態（第４供給形態）で供給箱３を供給した場合、上記移載手段６が供給箱３から１列のキャップ１を取り出すと、上方に設けた撮像手段７によって保持手段１２に保持されたキャップ１を撮影し、制御手段８が画像認識により当該キャップ１の保持状態を判定する。【選択図】 図５
