SOUND ABSORBER

To provide a sound absorber that exhibits an excellent sound absorption effect in a daily life noise range and has an excellent reverberation reduction effect in a low range.SOLUTION: A sound absorber comprises: sheet-like first and second solid knitted fabrics that are formed of a pair of base cloths arranged separated from each other and connecting fibers reciprocating between the base cloths to connect them to each other; and a support plate that is arranged between the first solid knitted fabric and the second solid knitted fabric, and supports the first solid knitted fabric and the second solid knitted fabric on its front and back. The first solid knitted fabric has an air permeability of 20-30 cm3/cm2/sec. The second solid knitted fabric has an air permeability of 10-20 cm3/cm2/sec. The support plate has an air permeability at least in a plate thickness direction, and forms an air space between the first solid knitted fabric and the second solid knitted fabric.
