Zusammenfassung:To provide an internal combustion engine that enables change of a compression ratio and output characteristics of an alcohol concentration of mixed fuel including alcohol fuel and enhances fuel economy and output as much as possible.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine uses mixed fuel including alcohol fuel, and includes an alcohol concentration sensor 125, a variable compression ratio mechanism 30, an internal combustion engine control device 70 and an intake passage variable mechanism 40. The internal combustion engine control device 70 changes a compression ratio in accordance with an alcohol concentration of the mixed fuel by using the variable compression ratio mechanism 30. The intake passage variable mechanism 40 changes length of an intake passage 15.
