Zusammenfassung:To provide an information reading system capable of improving reading accuracy of wireless tags and extending the life of an apparatus.SOLUTION: An information reading system 1 comprises: a mounting surface 21A on which an article 10 to be read is placed; an RFID reader 3 that is installed without being exposed on the mounting surface 21A so that the mounting surface 21A side becomes the reading range and reads information via an RFID tag 6 within the range of a reading area 23 on the mounting surface 21A; and radio wave shielding material 7 that surrounds the RFID reader 3 and blocks radio waves from entering the RFID reader 3 from the outside.
