To provide an optical unit which suppresses failure and a manufacturing method of the optical unit.SOLUTION: An optical unit includes: an optical functional component having a recess as an optical functional surface; a base plate provided facing an opening of the recess; and a bonding layer which is provided between the whole circumference of the opening of the recess and the base plate and which bonds the optical functional component and the base plate together.
