Zusammenfassung: | To provide a method for producing an iron source capable of sufficiently removing phosphorus even when phosphorus existing in iron ore is bonded to iron.SOLUTION: A method for producing an iron source comprises: a preparation step of preparing a composition for roasting containing iron ore having 0.05 mass% or more of phosphorus, where the total amount of Al2O3 and SiO2 is 5.0 mass% or more when the elements contained in the composition for roasting are converted into oxides; a roasting step of obtaining a roasted product by roasting the composition for roasting; a reduction step of obtaining a reduced product containing a reduced iron phase and a slag phase by reducing the roasted product in an atmosphere containing at least one of CO gas and hydrogen gas; a grinding step of obtaining a pulverized product containing a reduced iron phase-containing product in which at least a part of the slag phase constituting the reduced product is separated by pulverizing the reduced product; and a sorting and recovering step of sorting and recovering the reduced iron phase-containing product from the pulverized product.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
