To provide an engine that can reduce pumping loss of a piston.SOLUTION: An engine E according to the present disclosure comprises a crankshaft 2 that is an engine rotation shaft, a crankcase 4 supporting the crankshaft 2, a transmission 16 for changing the speed of rotation of the crankshaft 2, a power transmission shaft 10 for transmitting the rotation of the crankshaft 2 to the transmission 16, a partition wall 26 partitioning an internal space of the crankcase 4 into a crank chamber 28 and a transmission chamber 30, and a pump 32 for decompressing the crank chamber 28 by discharging fluid in the crank chamber 28 into the transmission chamber 30.
