To perform drive force transmission switching that suppresses the time required for drive force transmission switching with a drive force transmission part, in a recording device.SOLUTION: A recording device comprises: a driving source; a plurality of driving parts including a first driving part driven by the driving source and a second driving part driven by the driving source; a carriage on which a recording head is mounted, and which moves in a moving direction; and a drive force transmission part which includes a transmission gear with which drive of the driving source is transmitted, and moves according to the carriage, in order to switch transmission of drive with respect to the plurality of driving parts by the transmission gear at several positions.
