Zusammenfassung: | To provide a machine tool which can reduce an air consumption amount required for air purge.SOLUTION: A machine tool 1 includes: a first main shaft; a first headstock which is positioned on an outer peripheral side of the first main shaft with a gap Sk between the first headstock and the first main shaft and rotatably supports the first main shaft; air supply passages 56a, 56b which are formed to be connected to the gap Sk and has air passing from an air supply source 200; a solenoid valve 51 which is provided on the air supply passages 56a, 56b and can be switched between an open state in which air can be supplied to the gap Sk and a closed state in which the supply of air to the gap Sk is stopped; a pump 71 which can be switched between ON in which coolant liquid is supplied to a machining point of a workpiece and OFF in which the supply of the coolant liquid is stopped; and a control section 300 which controls the solenoid valve 51 and the pump 71 so that the open state and the closed state of the solenoid valve 51 are interlocked with ON and OFF of the pump 71.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
