Zusammenfassung:To provide a printing unit having excellent durability against drop impact.SOLUTION: A printing unit 6 includes: a platen roller; a thermal head which comes into pressure contact with an outer peripheral surface of the platen roller and performs printing on a recording sheet; a motor which serves as a drive source of the platen roller; and a frame 10 which supports the platen roller in a rotatable manner. The frame 10 includes: a motor support portion 18 which supports the motor; a base portion 11 which is connected to the motor support portion 18 and extends along an axial direction of the platen roller; mounting portions 70 which are attached to a member on which the printing unit is mounted; a standing wall 65 and a right fastening part 73 which protrude from the base portion 11; and a rib 80 which is provided between the motor support portion 18 and the mounting portions 70, and extends so as to connect the standing wall 65 and the right fastening part 73 with the base portion 11. The base portion 11 has a guide surface for guiding a recording sheet toward the thermal head.
