Zusammenfassung:To provide an improved illumination device.SOLUTION: An illumination device for a motor vehicle projection lamp for producing a light distribution (50) for dipped light. The light distribution (50) for dipped light has a uniform light distribution in a region (51) below an intersection HV up to at least -3° along a vertical line V-V. The illumination device includes: light emitting means (100) for emitting light; a restrictor (200) having a restriction edge (200a), the restrictor (200) including a first restriction portion (210) and a second restriction portion (220) which are connected by a connection portion (230); and a projection optics system (300) configured so as to image the light distribution (50) for dipped light in the direction of a main emission direction (X). The connection portion (230) has a deflection surface (240).
