Zusammenfassung: | To suppress the excessive rise of a surface potential of an end portion in a longitudinal direction of a photoreceptor in a configuration where a contact area of a surface of the photoreceptor contacting with a transfer member is shorter than a contact area of the surface of the photoreceptor contacting with a charging member with respect to the longitudinal direction.SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus 100, a control portion 40 can control to apply second transfer voltage on a normal polarity side of toner to first transfer voltage to a transfer member 5 in a period between transfer of a toner image to preceding recording material P1 and transfer of a toner image to subsequent recording material P2 during continuous image formation for transferring the toner image onto a plurality of recording materials P, and to perform the operation of applying second charging voltage having normal polarity of which absolute value is smaller than an absolute value of first charging voltage to a charging member 2 while a surface of a photoreceptor 1, which passed through a transfer portion Pd during application of the second transfer voltage to the transfer member 5, is passing through a charging portion Pa.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
【課題】長手方向に関して感光体の表面の帯電部材との接触領域よりも感光体の表面の転写部材との接触領域の方が短い構成において、感光体の長手方向の端部の表面電位が過剰に上昇することを抑制する。【解決手段】画像形成装置100は、制御部40が、複数の記録材Pにトナー像を転写する連続画像形成時に、先行する記録材P1に対するトナー像の転写と後続の記録材P2に対するトナー像の転写との間の期間に、転写部材5に第1の転写電圧に対してトナーの正規極性側の第2の転写電圧を印加すると共に、転写部材5に第2の転写電圧が印加されている間に転写部Pdを通過した感光体1の表面が帯電部Paを通過している間に、帯電部材2に第1の帯電電圧の絶対値よりも絶対値が小さい上記正規極性の第2の帯電電圧を印加する動作を実行するように制御可能な構成とする。【選択図】図4 |
