Zusammenfassung:To improve spalling resistance of a magnesia carbon brick containing no graphite or very little graphite, while suppressing a decrease in corrosion resistance.SOLUTION: The magnesia carbon brick is obtained by adding an organic binder to a refractory raw material compound, kneading, molding and then heat-treating. The refractory raw material compound comprises: 80 mass% or more and 95 mass% or less of magnesia with a grain size of 0.075 mm or more and less than 5 mm; 3 mass% or more and 12 mass% or less of magnesia with a grain size of less than 0.075 mm; 0.1 mass% or more and 3 mass% or less of silicon carbide; 0.3 mass% or more and 2.5 mass% or less in total of aluminum and/or an aluminum alloy, wherein a graphite content is 1.5 mass% or less (including 0).SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】黒鉛を含まないかあるいは含有量が極めて少ないマグネシアカーボンれんがにおいて、耐食性の低下を抑制しつつ耐スポーリング性を向上する。【解決手段】粒径0.075mm以上5mm未満のマグネシアを80質量%以上95質量%以下、粒径0.075mm未満のマグネシアを3質量%以上12質量%以下、炭化珪素を0.1質量%以上3質量%以下、並びにアルミニウム及び/又はアルミニウム合金を合計で0.3質量%以上2.5質量%以下含有し、かつ黒鉛の含有率が1.5質量以下(0を含む)である耐火原料配合物に、有機バインダーを添加して混練し成形後、熱処理する。【選択図】なし
