Zusammenfassung:To provide an image formation method and an image formation apparatus with excellent cleaning effect of an image formation surface of an intermediate transfer body, and which maintains the excellent image quality by preventing damage on image formation surface even when cleaning is repeatedly executed.SOLUTION: An image formation method comprises: an intermediate image formation step of forming an intermediate image by applying ink to an image formation surface of an intermediate transfer body; a transfer step of transferring the intermediate image to a recording medium; and a cleaning step of cleaning the image formation surface by bringing a cleaning member into contact with the image formation surface of the intermediate transfer body. The storage elastic modulus E of a material constituting the image formation surface of the intermediate transfer body is 10-100 MPa.
