Zusammenfassung:To provide a slab production method which can suppress the generation of a quality difference in the width direction of a slab when using split type slab support rolls.SOLUTION: There is provided a slab production method of producing a slab by subjecting a slab cast with a continuous casting machine to secondary cooling in a secondary cooling zone at least having a horizontal zone. In the horizontal zone, the slab is cooled in such a manner that the boiling state of a cooling liquid in the surface of the slab is made into nuclear boiling while supporting the slab with split type slab support rolls split into two or more in a slab width direction, and gas is jetted from a gas jet nozzle to suppress the leakage of the cooling liquid of the horizontal zone from roll chock parts of the split type slab support rolls.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 【課題】分割型鋳片支持ロールを用いた場合であって鋳片の幅方向における品質差の発生を抑制できる鋳片の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】連続鋳造機で鋳造される鋳片を、少なくとも水平帯を有する2次冷却帯において2次冷却して鋳片を製造する鋳片の製造方法であって、水平帯では、前記鋳片を鋳片幅方向で2以上に分割された分割型鋳片支持ロールで支持しながら鋳片の表面における冷却液の沸騰状態を核沸騰にして冷却し、気体噴射ノズルから気体を噴射して、水平帯の冷却液が前記分割型鋳片支持ロールのロールチョック部から漏洩することを抑制する。【選択図】図7
