DRESSING METHOD

To provide a dressing method that can efficiently execute dressing while avoiding a cutting blade from being damaged, in flatly forming an end face of an outer periphery of the cutting blade.SOLUTION: A dressing method, which uses a cutting device, includes: a dressing board holding step of holding a dressing board D while positioning the board at a central region of a chuck table 22; a cutting blade positioning step of positioning a tip of a cutting blade 81a of a cutting blade 81 supported by cutting means 8 while making the tip correspond to a rotary shaft A of the chuck table 22; and a dressing step of rotating the chuck table 22 and rotating the cutting blade 81 to infeed the dressing board D held on the chuck table 22, and then contacting a tip P of a cutting blade 81a' of the cutting blade 81 with the dressing board D to flatly form an end face of an outer periphery of the cutting blade 81a'.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】切り刃の外周端面を平らに成形する際に、該切り刃の破損を避けながら効率よくドレシングを実施することができるドレッシング方法を提供する。【解決手段】切削装置を用いたドレッシング方法であって、チャックテーブル２２の中央領域にドレッシングボードＤを位置付けて保持するドレッシングボード保持工程と、切削手段８に支持された切削ブレード８１の切り刃８１ａの先端をチャックテーブル２２の回転軸Ａに対応させて位置付ける切削ブレード位置付け工程と、チャックテーブル２２を回転させると共に切削ブレード８１を回転させてチャックテーブル２２に保持されたドレッシングボードＤに切り込み送りして切削ブレード８１の切り刃８１ａ'の先端ＰをドレッシングボードＤに接触させて切り刃８１ａ'の外周端面を平らに成形するドレッシング工程と、を含み構成される。【選択図】図５
