Zusammenfassung:	To provide a urethane resin that is superior in adhesion to a substrate and heat resistance, and also superior in dispersibility to an aqueous medium, and to provide a urethane water dispersion.SOLUTION: A urethane resin satisfies following (1) to (3): (1) in measurements based on gel permeation chromatography, the area ratio of components with a molecular weight of 1.0×105 or more is 10% or more; (2) the weight average molecular weight (Mw) is 2.0×105 to 1.0×109; and (3) the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) is 9 to 15000 (where Mn denotes a number average molecular weight).SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】本発明の目的は基材への密着性および耐熱性に優れ、水性媒体への分散性も良好なウレタン樹脂およびウレタン水分散体を提供することにある。【解決手段】以下の（１）～（３）を満足するウレタン樹脂。（１）ゲル浸透クロマトグラフィーでの測定において、分子量が１．０×１０５以上の成分の面積比が１０％以上である（２）重量平均分子量（Ｍｗ）が２．０×１０５～１．０×１０９である（３）分子量分布（Ｍｗ／Ｍｎ）が９～１５０００である（ここでＭｎは数平均分子量を表す）【選択図】なし
