Zusammenfassung:To provide a novel fuel battery catalyst with a PtM nanoparticle supported on a surface of a carrier, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: A fuel battery catalyst comprises: carriers having electrical conductivity; and PtM nanoparticles supported on a surface of the carrier, and containing Pt, and a metal element M consisting of Ni and/or Co. The PtM nanoparticles have a short diameter of 0.8 nm up to 100 nm, an aspect ratio of 5.0 or under, and a supporting rate of 10 mass% or more and 50 mass% or less; the percentage of a number of octahedron particles is smaller than 1%. The PtM nanoparticles satisfy the following conditions: Mc
