Zusammenfassung:	To solve a problem where drivers feel bothered by the time it takes to determine whether a vehicle is on an expressway or a local road using information from a point on the road and a point a certain distance away.SOLUTION: A vehicle driving road type determination system includes a first road type determination unit that determines the type of road on which a vehicle is currently traveling based on information from satellite positioning means, and a second road type determination unit that determines whether the determination result of the first road type determination unit is correct based on one or more pieces of information from surrounding situation detection means and vehicle state acquisition means, and can quickly make highly accurate determinations and suppress false determinations by adopting a configuration in which the determination result in the first road type determination unit is used as the primary determination, and the second road type determination unit performs the correct/incorrect determination based on one or more pieces of information from the surrounding situation detection means and the vehicle state acquisition means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 【課題】道路上の地点と一定区間離れた地点における情報を用いて高速道か一般道かを判断する場合、判定までに時間を要することから、運転者に煩わしさを感じさせてしまうことがある。【解決手段】衛星位置測位手段の情報から自車が現在走行している道路種別を判定する第一道路種別判定部と、周辺状況検出手段および車両状態取得手段からの１つ以上の情報に基づいて第一道路種別判定手段の判定結果の正誤を判定する第二道路種別判定部を有し、第一道路種別判定部での判定結果を一次判定とし、周辺状況検出手段および車両状態取得手段の１つ以上の情報に基づいて第二道路種別判定部により正誤判定を行う構成としたことで、高精度の判定を速やかに行うことができ、誤判定を抑制できる。【選択図】図３
