To provide an electric component (102) for an electric machine (100).SOLUTION: An electric component (102) includes a body (112) having slots (120) defined therein, and a conductive winding (118) extending out of axial ends (130, 132) of the slots (120). The electric component (102) includes a resin dam (160) around the conductive winding (118) at the axial ends (130, 132) of the slots. The resin dam (160) blocks liquid communication through at least a space (162) between the conductive winding (118) and an inner surface (164) of the slots (120) during manufacture. The electric component (102) also includes an insulating resin (170) in the slots (120) and against the resin dam (160) at the axial ends (130, 132) of the slots (120).
