Zusammenfassung: | To provide protection structure of a sensor in an exhaust pipe that does not require any electric motors, has a simple structure, and can efficiently protect the sensor from drench within an exhaust pipe.SOLUTION: Since a cover member 8 is rotated nearly around an element 2 by a wing member 12 receiving an exhaust flow when the exhaust flow occurs within an exhaust pipe 3 when an engine is cold-started, water (condensed water) adhered to the cover member 8 or infiltrating the inside of the cover member 8 is blown off, thus protecting the element 2 (sensor 1) covered with the cover member 8 from drench. In the meantime, in a warm-up state of an engine, rotation of the cover member 8 is regulated by pressure contact with the cover member 8 by deformation of a regulating member 13 made of bimetal, and hence a sufficient amount of exhaust can be introduced into the element 2 of the sensor 1, thus ensuring functions of the sensor 1 for evaluating performance of a catalyst.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】電動モータを必要とせず、簡潔な構造にして、排気管内における被水からセンサを効率的に保護することが可能な排気管内センサの保護構造を提供する。【解決手段】エンジンの冷間始動時、排気管3内に排気流が生じると、この排気流を受けた翼部材12によってカバー部材8が素子2を略中心として回転されるので、カバー部材8に付着したりカバー部材8の内部に浸入したりしている水(凝結水)が吹き飛ばされ、これによりカバー部材8で覆われた素子2(センサ1)が被水から保護される。一方、エンジンの暖機状態では、バイメタル製の規制部材13が変形することでカバー部材8に押圧接触してカバー部材8の回転が規制され、これにより十分な量の排気をセンサ1の素子2に導入することができ、触媒の性能評価のためのセンサ1の機能を確保することができる。【選択図】図1 |
