To provide a sound bar device capable of realizing an optimal sound environment in accordance with a screen width of a television apparatus.SOLUTION: A sound bar device 1 comprises: a first housing 10 having speakers on a front surface and a left side surface; and a second housing 11 that includes speakers on a front surface and a right side surface, and can be attached to and detached from the right side of the first housing 10 by an attachment and detachment mechanism 12. One of the first and second housings 10 and 11 is a main housing, and the other one of them is a sub-housing. The main housing extracts an audio signal of a channel assigned to the speaker held by itself from a multi-channel audio signal received from a television apparatus 3 and reproduces it, and outputs it from those speakers. In addition, the main housing extracts the audio signal of the channel assigned to the speaker provided to the sub-housing and transmits it to the sub-housing.
