To provide a projector that has achieved miniaturization and an improvement in cooling efficiency.SOLUTION: A projector of the present invention comprises: a light source that emits light; an optical modulator that modules the light emitted from the light source; a projection optical device that projects the light modulated by the optical modulator; a sealed enclosure that has a first opening and accommodates the optical modulator in a sealed state; a fan that is accommodated in the sealed enclosure, and that has a housing, an intake port to take in air inside the sealed enclosure to the housing, an exhaust port to exhaust the air from the housing, and a second opening through which air circulates; and a heat absorption unit that is arranged outside an inner face of the sealed enclosure.
