PASSING VEHICLE DISCRIMINATION SYSTEM AND PASSING VEHICLE DISCRIMINATION METHOD

To accurately discriminate a vehicle passing through a predetermined area regardless of mounting/non-mounting of an RFID tag.SOLUTION: A passing vehicle discrimination system 1 comprises: an optical sensor 20 which irradiates a side face of a vehicle passing through a predetermined area A with laser light, and detects reflected light of the laser light; a reading device 30 which reads information on an RFID tag mounted on the vehicle; and an arithmetic processing device 41 which detects the vehicle passing through the predetermined area A on the basis of a detection result of the optical sensor 20, and acquires a read result of the reading device 30.
