To provide an encoder capable of preventing the occurrence of erroneous detection.SOLUTION: An encoder 20 for detecting the rotation of a rotation shaft 16, includes: a first magnetic member 30 which is magnetized and rotated together with the rotation shaft 16; and a power generation member 32 which generates power by the rotation of the first magnetic member 30 together with the rotation shaft 16. The power generation member 32 has: a coil 34; a yoke 38 which is inserted through the coil 34; and a second magnetic member 40 which is magnetized and generates a magnetic flux flowing through the yoke 38. The second magnetic member 40 is turned with respect to the yoke 38 by the rotation of the first magnetic member 30 together with the rotation shaft 16. A direction of the magnetic flux is reversed by the turning of the second magnetic member 40 with respect to the yoke 38.
