Zusammenfassung:	To appropriately correct an image forming condition considering the relationship between the color of an image formed on a recording medium and a ground color of the color.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image forming unit; a detector that detects, from a recording medium on which a first image is formed, a first color of the first image and a ground color of the first image; a storage unit that stores reference data for specifying the relative relationship between the position of the first color in a color space and the position of the ground color in the color space; and a control unit.
