Zusammenfassung: | To provide a silicon nitride sintered body having good mechanical properties, especially fracture toughness and a good product life when processed into a product and to provide a rolling element and a bearing using the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a silicon nitride sintered body containing a rare earth element and an aluminum element, wherein in the silicon nitride sintered body, the content of the rare earth element is 6 wt.% or more and 13 wt.% or less in terms of oxide based on the total weight of the silicon nitride sintered body, the content of the aluminum element is 6 wt.% or more and 13 wt.% or less in terms of oxide based on the total weight of the silicon nitride sintered body and the method comprises a mixing step of dry mixing a silicon powder and a raw material powder containing a sintering aid without using a binder, a formation step of forming the mixed raw material powder into a powder compact and a sintering step of sintering the powder compact in which the silicon powder is contained in an amount of 45 wt.% or more based on the total raw material powder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】機械的特性、特に破壊靱性が良好であり、製品に加工した場合に良好な製品寿命を有する窒化ケイ素焼結体、それを用いた転動体、および軸受を提供する。【解決手段】本製造方法は、希土類元素およびアルミニウム元素を含む窒化ケイ素焼結体を製造する方法であって、窒化ケイ素焼結体において、希土類元素の含有量は、窒化ケイ素焼結体の総重量に対して、酸化物換算で6重量%以上13重量%以下であり、アルミニウム元素の含有量は、窒化ケイ素焼結体の総重量に対して、酸化物換算で6重量%以上13重量%以下であり、ケイ素粉末と焼結助剤を含む原料粉末を、バインダを用いずに乾式で混合する混合工程と、混合された原料粉末を圧粉体に成形する成形工程と、圧粉体を焼結する焼結工程とを有し、ケイ素粉末は原料粉末全体に対して45重量%以上含まれる。【選択図】図1 |
