Zusammenfassung: | To provide a silicon nitride sintered body having good mechanical properties, especially good fracture toughness and a good product life when processed into a product and to provide a rolling element and a bearing using the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a rolling element 4 of a rolling bearing 1 comprising a silicon nitride sintered body containing a rare earth element and an aluminum element, wherein the content of the rare earth element is 6 wt.% or more and 13 wt.% or less in terms of oxide based on the total weight of the silicon nitride sintered body, the content of the aluminum element is 6 wt.% or more and 13 wt.% or less in terms of oxide based on the total weight of the silicon nitride sintered body, the silicon nitride sintered body has vacancies in the surface layer part, which is an area within 2 mm from the surface of the silicon nitride sintered body and the maximum diameter of the vacancies is 50 μm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】機械的特性、特に破壊靱性が良好であり、製品に加工した場合に良好な製品寿命を有する窒化ケイ素焼結体、それを用いた転動体、および軸受を提供する。【解決手段】転がり軸受1の転動体4は、希土類元素およびアルミニウム元素を含む窒化ケイ素焼結体からなり、希土類元素の含有量は、窒化ケイ素焼結体の総重量に対して、酸化物換算で6重量%以上13重量%以下であり、アルミニウム元素の含有量は、窒化ケイ素焼結体の総重量に対して、酸化物換算で6重量%以上13重量%以下であり、窒化ケイ素焼結体の表面から2mm以内の領域である表層部に空孔を有し、該空孔の最大径が50μm以下である。【選択図】図1 |
