Zusammenfassung:To provide a method for efficiently producing an organically modified smectite-based clay that prevents agglomeration during production, has excellent handling properties, powder properties, and fluidity, and is expected to be used as a carrier, filler, auxiliary agent, etc.SOLUTION: A method for producing an organically modified smectite-based clay is provided, in which ion exchange of smectite-based clay is carried out in a solution containing an organic salt of a cation and an inorganic anion having an alkyl group having 12 or more carbon atoms and at least 5 wt.% of water, then a cake with a water content of 30 wt.% or more is made by a dehydration operation and a washing operation, and then the cake is dried under a condition of 120°C or higher and lower than 200°C.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】 製造時の凝集を防止し、取り扱い性、紛体特性、流動性に優れ、担体、充填材、助剤等としての各種利用が期待される有機変性スメクタイト系粘土を効率よく製造する方法を提供する。【解決手段】 有機変性スメクタイト系粘土を製造する際に、炭素数12以上のアルキル基を有するカチオンと無機アニオンの有機塩及び水5重量%以上を含む溶液中にてスメクタイト系粘土のイオン交換を行い、その後脱液操作、水洗操作により含水率30重量%以上のケーキとした後120℃以上200℃未満の条件下にて乾燥する有機変性スメクタイト系粘土の製造方法。【選択図】 なし
