Zusammenfassung:	To provide a coating member and a coating method that improve workability and have good long-term stability.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a coating member 1 of an approximately cylindrical shape for coating an outer periphery of a long-sized target object 50 in binding of an overhead distribution line, a water pipe, a gas pipe, or a wiring harness for an automobile or an aircraft. The coating member 1 is formed such that an inner periphery thereof is longer than the outer periphery of the target object 50. At least part of a peripheral side part is made of a self-bonding member 10 having a self-bonding property over an entire axial length.
