Zusammenfassung:To prevent a rotation phenomenon occurring when a surface-mounted electronic component is mounted.SOLUTION: An electronic component 1 comprises: an element body 2 having a longitudinal direction defined as an (x) direction; and terminal electrodes E1-E4. Connection patterns connected to the terminal electrodes E1-E4 are exposed from a functional layer 4. Connection patterns 11-14 are not exposed to a side face S1 but are exposed to a side face S3, connection patterns 21-24 are not exposed to the side face S1 but are exposed to a side face S4, connection patterns 31-34 are not exposed to a side face S2 but exposed to the side face S3, and connection patterns 41-44 are not exposed to the side face S2 but are exposed to the side face S4. Thus, a surface tension of a solder acting on the side faces S3 and S4 extending in a width direction is improved while suppressing a surface tension of the solder acting on the side faces S1 and S2 extending in the longitudinal direction, consequently rotation around the longitudinal direction of the electronic component 1 hardly occurs during mounting of the surface-mounted electronic component.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】表面実装型の電子部品において実装時における回転現象を防止する。【解決手段】電子部品1は、x方向を長手方向とする素体2及び端子電極E1~E4を備える。機能層4からは、端子電極E1~E4に接続された接続パターンが露出する。接続パターン11~14は側面S1に露出することなく側面S3に露出し、接続パターン21~24は側面S1に露出することなく側面S4に露出し、接続パターン31~34は側面S2に露出することなく側面S3に露出し、接続パターン41~44は側面S2に露出することなく側面S4に露出する。これにより、長手方向に延在する側面S1,S2に作用するハンダの表面張力を抑えつつ、短手方向に延在する側面S3,S4に作用するハンダの表面張力が高められることから、実装時において電子部品1の長手方向を軸とした回転が生じにくくなる。【選択図】図1
