To provide a position information acquisition device capable of reducing a communication traffic volume.SOLUTION: A position information acquisition device comprises: a first acquisition unit that acquires position information and speed information for representing a position and a speed of a vehicle; a recording unit that records the position information and the speed information acquired by the first acquisition unit; a communication unit that communicates with a management server which manages the position information of the vehicle; and a control unit that performs transmission processing for transmitting the position information recorded in the recording unit from the communication unit to the management server.
