HOT WATER STORAGE TYPE WATER HEATER

To provide a hot water storage type water heater which is advantageous for detecting water immersion during a flood properly.SOLUTION: A hot water storage type water heater includes: an outer shell case having a drain pan at a bottom part; a hot water storage tank disposed within the outer shell case; a drain component having a drain port for draining water received by the drain pan to the outside of the outer shell case; a water immersion detection sensor which has a detection part which detects contact of water to detect the outer shell case being immersed in water during a flood; and a sensor support component which supports the water immersion detection sensor. The sensor support component has a side wall part which covers a periphery of the detection part of the water immersion detection sensor, and the bottom surface side of the side wall part is open. A water passage, in which the water received by the drain pan passes when flowing to the drain port, is formed within the drain component.
