METHOD FOR DETERMINING WHETHER METAL BAND MEETS CRITERIA AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING METAL BAND

To provide a method for determining whether a metal band meets criteria that allows a user to determine whether a surface defect of a metal band meets criteria according to a request of the user and also allows a metal band with a quality level according to a user to be shipped for each user, and a method for manufacturing a metal band.SOLUTION: The similarity between image data D3n taken of the surface of a metal band 2 and defective image data D3n-1 stored in a determination record database 6 regarding other metal bands having been shipped to a user is calculated based on the image data D3n and the defective image data D3n-1 when it is determined whether a surface defect in the metal band 2 to be shipped to the user meets criteria.
