To provide an activity amount calculation device and activity amount calculation method capable of calculating an amount of activity, parameters for evaluating physical activity of a user based on a moving image of the user.SOLUTION: An activity amount calculation device calculates, for each of calculation reference joint points in an exercise state acquired based on a captured moving image of a user during a calculation target period, muscle power during the exercise of a corresponding body part in a periphery of a joint point in the calculation target period; calculates an integral value of the total muscle power during the exercise in the calculation period, as energy consumption during the exercise; and calculates whole body energy consumption based on the energy consumption during the exercise.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】ユーザの動画に基づいて、ユーザの身体活動を評価するためのパラメータである活動量を算出できる活動量算出装置及び活動量算出方法を提供する。【解決手段】活動量算出装置は、計算対象期間のユーザの撮像動画に基づいて取得された運動状態にある計算基準関節点のそれぞれについて、計算対象期間における関節点の周囲の対応身体部位の運動時筋パワーを算出し、運動時筋パワーの合計の計算対象期間の積分値を運動時消費エネルギーとして算出し、運動時消費エネルギーに基づいて、全身消費エネルギーを算出する。【選択図】図２
