Zusammenfassung:To provide an exhaust gas heater in which an assembly that is stable irrespective of the temperature of the exhaust gas heater is ensured.SOLUTION: An exhaust gas heater for an exhaust device of an internal combustion engine includes a carrier assembly 24, and a heating conductor assembly 18 having at least one heating conductor 14, 16. The at least one heating conductor 14, 16 is supported with respect to the carrier assembly 24 by at least one connecting element 32, which is elongate in the direction of a connecting element longitudinal axis V. At least one length compensation assembly 44 is provided in association with at least one connecting element 32, the at least one length compensation assembly having a first length compensation element 46, which has a first supporting surface 54 providing a wedge formation, and a second length compensation element 48, which has a second supporting surface 56 supported on the first supporting surface 54 and providing a counter-wedge formation.
