Zusammenfassung: | To provide passively Q-switched SWIR lasers which can be produced in low costs and in large numbers.SOLUTION: There are provided passively Q-switched lasers and short wave infrared (SWIR) electro-optical systems including the passively Q-switched lasers. The passively Q-switched laser may include a gain medium (GM) having a stimulated emission cross section σSE, a saturable absorber (SA) having an absorption cross section (σa) which is less than three times the σSE of the GM, and an optical resonator within which the GM and the SA are positioned, the optical resonator comprising a high reflectivity mirror and an output coupler. At least one of the high reflectivity mirror and the output coupler comprises a curved mirror. The curved mirror directs light within the optical resonator such that an effective cross-section (ASA) of a laser mode within the SA is smaller than a cross-section (AGM) of a laser mode within a Rayleigh length of a pump.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】低コストでの大量生産が可能な受動QスイッチSWIRレーザが必要とされている。【解決手段】受動Qスイッチレーザ、および、当該受動Qスイッチレーザを備えた短波赤外(SWIR)電気光学システム。受動Qスイッチレーザは、誘導放出断面積σSEを有するゲイン媒体(GM)と、GMのσSEの3倍未満の吸収断面積(σa)を有する可飽和アブソーバ(SA)と、GMとSAとが内部に配置されており、かつ、高反射率ミラーおよび出力カプラを有する光共振器と、を備えていてよい。高反射率ミラーおよび出力カプラのうちの少なくとも一方は、湾曲ミラーを含んでいる。湾曲ミラーは、SA内におけるレーザモードの有効断面積(ASA)が、ポンプのレイリー長の範囲内におけるレーザモードの断面積(AGM)よりも小さくなるように、光共振器内へと光を導く。【選択図】図1 |
