Zusammenfassung:	To provide a production method capable of obtaining a thinned graphite with low contents of elemental fluorine and elemental boron and low mass ratio of elemental carbon to elemental oxygen (C/O ratio).SOLUTION: A method for producing a graphite sheet structure includes a step of applying a voltage between an anode and a cathode in an electrochemical reaction system that includes an anode containing graphite, a cathode, and an electrolyte solution containing perchlorate and/or perchlorate as the electrolyte.
