METHOD FOR PRODUCING PHENOLS

To provide a method for producing phenols that enables sufficient separation between oil and water in an oil-water separation step in the phenol production method.SOLUTION: A method for producing phenols includes: a neutralization step for neutralizing an acid-decomposed cumene hydroperoxide reaction solution with an alkali; an oil-water separation step for separating the neutralized reaction solution into an oil phase liquid and an aqueous phase liquid; and a washing step for mixing the oil phase liquid with washing water to wash it.
