| Zusammenfassung: | To provide a method capable of easily and efficiently producing a 2-(fluoroalkyl)nicotinic acid derivative used as an intermediate for producing a pest control agent.MEANS: There is provided a method which comprises: reacting a 6-(fluoroalkyl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran-5-carboxylic acid ster derivative (3) with an ammonium compound or ammonia in the presence of a base to obtain a 2-(fluoroalkyl)nicotinic acid ester derivative represented by the formula (4); followed by hydrolysis, without isolation of the 2-(fluoroalkyl)nicotinic acid ester derivative to obtain a 2-(fluoroalkyl)nicotinic acid derivative represented by the formula (5).
