Zusammenfassung:To provide an agent and a method for inhibiting the corrosion of an iron-based metal which can inhibit the corrosion of iron-based metal piping or facility in contact with a water system with an electric conductivity of lower than 20 mS/m, has excellent handleability, and does not require a wide installation space.SOLUTION: A method for inhibiting the corrosion of an iron-based metal includes adding an organic acid with an acid dissociation constant pKa of 4 or less and a salt thereof to a water system with an electric conductivity of lower than 20 mS/m.
