Zusammenfassung:	To provide a pigment dispersant that enables efficient dispersion without causing local shades of pigment even when the pigment concentration is high, and a pigment dispersion using this pigment dispersant.SOLUTION: Provided is a pigment dispersant that contains a polyalkylene ether glycol having a number average molecular weight of 200 or more and 5000 or less as determined from a hydroxyl value. Polytetramethylene ether glycol is preferred as the polyalkylene ether glycol.
